Marinetti, the avant-garde of the avant-garde

The first brilliant avant-gardist was Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, in 1909 he published the Futurism manifesto
futurism, vanguard of all vanguards
Marinetti rejected the past and threw art into the future
prophetically gave a powerful shake to a world that was teetering
Marinetti is one of the most fascinating figures of the period
Marinetti is one of the most concealed figures of the period
he was a fascist
he was almost always a fascist until his death
a few hours before his death he wrote one last poem
‘A quarter of an hour of poetry of the X Mas’.
post-war anti-fascist Italian culture could not accept him, he was completely obscured
about Marinetti the textbooks often remember that he was a fascist, that he spoke of war as the ‘only hygiene of the world’, they remember his expression ‘contempt for women’
and meanwhile they forget to mention that he was the first of the avant-gardists, that he was a pioneer of multidisciplinarity, they forget that without futurism the other avant-gardes would have taken other paths, they forget that it was he who made the artist an activist, they forget how he revolutionised language a decade before Joyce
so many decades later we can say, with freedom, that he was one of the greatest geniuses of his era
we can say that Filippo Tommaso Marinetti was a great master of the last phase of western nigredo
there was hidden esotericism in what he did
the dark soul of Paris influenced many
speed, electricity, industry, prophecies of times to come
human languages mixing with those of machines
temptations, provocations, accelerations
creations, deconstructions
and Marinetti, let me believe it, knew very well what he was doing, knew very well that he was part of the alchemical mechanism of nigredo, was aware that in order to reconstruct he had to destroy, and that was the epoch in which one had to destroy
in the end he was aware, he, great destroyer, that he belonged to something greater
‘I don’t shout goodbye to you in Paradise that up there you would have to obey the infinite pure love of God while you are now craving to command an army of reasoning and so onward you go’
