The Spirit of Kandinsky

And then there was Kandinsky
the brilliant Vasily Vasil’evič Kandinsky
he broke with figurative representation and dissolved reality into pure forms and spaces
the liquefaction of nigredo is complete
in 1911 he wrote The Spiritual in Art
therein lies everything
analysis, perspective, awareness
he was deeply influenced by the dualism of theosophy, dualism overturned
he consciously described the modern period as an age of disorder and confusion, a dark phase in which humanity had lost contact with the spirit
and was cogs in it
a yellow age
like the Christ of the Theosophist Gaugin
in his theory of colours Yellow is a strong, agitated, material and chaotic colour, almost an explosion without control, earthly and material, close to disorder and madness, it is the colour of a phase of disintegration and chaotic transformation, it is not yet a spiritual colour (like blue or white), but represents an earthly and centrifugal energy, similar to primordial chaos that must be transcended
all yellow is his Last Judgement
perhaps more than the others he was aware that he lived in an apocalyptic era
Kandinsky had a great awareness of what he was doing, perhaps more than anyone else
like an executioner obedient to the sovereignty of history about to perpetrate the execution of a friend
perhaps he truly hoped that the nigredo would immediately open the door to the other alchemical phases
Kandinsky died in 1944
unaware that the nigredo of which he had been conscious
Not knowing that the nigredo of which he had been aware executor would be a trap
or perhaps he knew it very well, perhaps he knew it better than everyone else, Kandinskij, with a crystal clear awareness of what he was doing
a trap
the West, unaware of it, has fallen into it and no longer found a way out, to go from black to white
and would have fallen into a golden cage, where the previous dynamics will find no more space
because another god will be installed on the throne
